I think this would also be good with a "Thief" or "Tribute" in place of the "Spy".

Tribute instead of Torturer.
Having the Tribute instead of the Torturer makes more sense for "crooked politics".
Tribute instead of Torturer
Tribute instead of Torturer played out well combining it with the Spy. Also good way to get extra coin/card/actions.
Bureaucrat was annoying to those playing the Baron + Estate route.
If I played it again, I would replace the Chapel with a Cellar if replaced the Torturer with the Tribute. The Chapel was intended to be useful with the potential curses in play with the Torturer.
The Conspirator didn't get played at all with this mix.
Would definitely play
Would definitely play again.
Played with the Tribute instead of the Torturer. The Spy then Tribute combination was fun. Game picked up speed quickly. The Torturer might have made the game play a little while longer. Overall, enjoyed the game.

Fun one - could use several different strategies. I'll have to try it again with the Tribute...
We put the Tribute in over
We put the Tribute in over the Torturer as well and it was probably the best game we've played (may have to do with me winning).

We played it as is (2 player), really fun kingdom especially when both play with torturer. Chapel and deck thinning is pivotal to the win. Use a lot of Shanty Towns combined with torturers and one or two council rooms to get two provinces per turn. (Careful with council room, you don't want your opponent playing with 6 cards every turn!!)

Game of Attrition.
Torturer/Tribute and Spy really slow down the game. Not sure if I would play it again with those cards. Baron and Bureaucrat are pair well, as does High Council and Shanty Town. Same with Council Room and Shanty Town.

Torturer, Tribute as a substitution, and Spy really slow down the game. Not sure if I would play it again with those cards. Felt like a game of attrition.
